Jesus Christ is building His Church. The foundation has been laid, and the Temple will be completed where He established His Work. The call to return to Philadelphia is a call back to Christ’s construction site—not to assemble a separate structure away from its foundation.
The Construction Site
Imagine workers prefabricating a house away from the original building site. Even if the parts look impressive, a separate modular structure is not the Temple being built on the Architect’s established foundation. The question is not simply whether we are busy building, but whether we are building where Christ placed us.
“For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” — 1 Corinthians 3:11
Return to the Classroom
Students may wander, take a field trip, or begin their own lessons elsewhere. Yet the call is to return to the school and classroom established for their instruction. Likewise, the call to God’s people is not merely to gather somewhere, but to return to the place of their spiritual education and proper placement.
“Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast.” — Revelation 3:11
The Living Philadelphia Era
Philadelphia is not presented here as an era that ended with a physical administration. The Philadelphia era of God’s Work continues today. The spiritual organism is the embodiment of the Worldwide Church of God; Christ’s Church is alive, and His Work continues.
“Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God ... and he shall go no more out.” — Revelation 3:12
